About Us / Mission
Colgate Craig, owner of Framing Concepts Gallery along with his wife Stella, loves what he does. “I believe in having fun,” says Craig, who retired from his life as an engineer and opened his first combination frame shop and gallery in Denver in 1982. His background as an engineer gives him a fine eye for detail and a penchant for precision in his framing. As he says, “With engineers, everything has to be just so.” He enjoys working with his hands and remembers his first frame, made from barn wood from the Tallahassee Creek Ranch up in Colorado… Craig opened Framing Concepts Gallery in 1992.
He is a Certified Professional Framer, certified through time and testing by the PPFA., and was member of the Professional Picture Framers Association (PPFA) for over 20 years and active in their local chapters . He was also a Director of the Albuquerque Art Business Association, the Arts Crawl People (AABA).for 15 years and also served as the Treasurer for several years.
“Craig… and the staff at Framing Concepts are considered such trusted professionals that
they work with and represent many well-known Albuquerque artists.”
